Winter 2017 Update

1/15/2017

Well it's been a busy few months!

As I wrapped up my internship at Orlando Shakespeare Theater, I stayed in Orlando for the summer to teach, direct, choreograph, and music director for Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and The Orlando Repertory Theatre in their summer programs. I had the privilege of working with an incredibly talented group of high school students on a production of As You Like It; you can see the finale number I choreographed here.

Then moved to Chicago in September! I'm excited to be back in the Second City.
I've been studying dance at Lou Conte Dance Studio and began voice lessons with Matthew Ellenwood.

I had the joy of being the swing for A Charlie Brown Christmas with Emerald City Theatre and Broadway In Chicago, understudying Charlie, Linus, and Schroeder. I got a couple of early morning phone calls, being called-in last minute for our 10 AM curtain time, and I was thrilled my parents got to me perform as both Charlie and Linus on different occasions (it's nice being back close to family).

I also performed at WinterWonderFest at Navy Pier, getting to explore fun characters in an interactive audience experience as guests explored our "WinterWonderTown".

I am currently down in beautiful, sunny, warm Miami, Florida. We are wrapping up our first week of rehearsal for Carousel at Actors' Playhouse. We have an incredibly talented team, including Michael Hunsaker as "Billy Bigelow", direction by David Arisco, music direction by Caryl Fantel, and choreography by Ron Hutchins.

Well as the Spring comes to a close, I am finishing up my Acting/Education Internship here at Orlando Shakespeare Theater.
I've been able to be part of six shows (including two *world premieres*) this season:

Monty Python's SPAMALOT (Ensemble)
*Magic Tree House: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens (Jack)
Peter and the Star Catcher (u/s Boy/Peter)
*The Adventures of Pericles (Ensemble, u/s Bolt, Choreographer)
The Tempest (Adrian, Ensemble, Dance Captain)
Elephant and Piggie's We're In a Play (Squirrelle, Penguin, Dance Captain)
see production photos below!

I've also recently signed with The Diamond Model & Talent Agency here in Orlando!

I just updated some of my videos, including a new Film Reel, and I'll be adding some new songs and monologues very soon as well!

As I head into the summer, I'll be doing a bit of traveling and then heading back to Orlando to work at Orlando Shakespeare Theater and The Orlando Repertory Theatre as a teaching artist! I'll be teaching some summer camp, music directing, and Assistant Directing OST's summer show for The Young Company!

My time as OST has really shown me how much I truly love education so I've put together a little Acting/Education Resume. Read it, frame it, give it to your friends! Hire me!

I'm currently learning to play the balancing game of performing and education and directing and choreography. Not to mention building on my other skills in music, dance, improv, sign language. ITS AN ADVENTURE!

Love to all my friends and family and supporters!

As I look back on the past six months I am again blown away by God's provision in my life!
Here is a SparkNotes update on my life:
-I finished up a four month contract as a professional dancer with Matt Davenport Productions as the Featured Male Dancer in Hershey Park's "Wide Open Country" review show. Watch the full show here!
-I've opened West Side Story at Lipscomb University where I am playing Riff, a dream role! Check out our awesome production photos!
-I've been cast in Nashville Shakespeare Festival's Twelfth Night as Curio! I can't wait to work with these people again!
-I've been selected as the Assistant Director for Lipscomb's Spring 2015 production of Dancing at Lughnasa where I will get to learn from Beki Baker as she directs
-I am finishing up my second to last semester at school! I graduate in May!

Looking to the future seems a little scary right now. After graduating in May who knows where I may land! I'm currently looking at some short-term opportunities here in Nashville with my eyes set on spending some time in Chicago to really focus on my dance training!
But who knows what my God has in store for me! I know it is going to be great, amazing things!

Wow. So much has happened in the past six months. God has been so good to me and continued to provide for me.
I have been so blessed by so many friendships and opportunities.

First, I had a great run with Nashville Shakespeare Festival playing "Kudzu" and serving as Dance Captain for their production of
A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Next, I had the amazing opportunity to be a part of the first annual Nashville Choreographer's Canvas, a community wide celebration of all forms of dance that brought in professional performers from as far away as New York City. I had a long-time dream come true in getting to share the stage with Justin Boccitto, performing the tap duet
"Reflection". Also, the students were all asked to submit one piece of choreography to be featured in the Canvas and my hip-hop piece "Royals" was selected to be featured in the show. What a blessing and joy to have a piece fully produced and performed!
We had a great run of Les Miserables at Lipscomb University where I played "Thenardier" to sold out houses every night.
I've just closed a show with Blackbird Theatre, playing "Duval" in
Man and Superman with some of my favorite people, including some friends from my show with Nashville Shakes.

Next, I will be playing the role of "Pied Piper" in Circle Players and Lipscomb Univeristy's joint production of "Shrek the Musical". I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to Assistant Choreograph the production, which has been an invaluable learning experience.

As I look to the future I continue to put my hope in God, who can do these greater than I can even ask.

Everything for Him!
